Why Schedules Move
Dota 2 gifting has strict limits. Here's why your slot might shift.

30-Day Friendship Timer
Gifting unlocks
exactly 30 days
after we become Steam friends, down to the
very second
. If we added at 11:50 PM, I can gift at 11:50 PM on day 30.

8 Gifts Per Day Cap
Valve limits every account to
8 Dota 2 gifts in 24 hours
. This is a hard cap that cannot be increased.

The 11:59:59 Problem
The
8th gift
might send at
11:59:59 PM
. This counts toward that day's limit, even though it's seconds before midnight.

Schedule Shifts Forward
If the 8th gift goes out at 11:59:59 PM, the next batch can't start until
after that 24-hour window
. Your slot moves to the next day.
Heads up:
This is rare, but it happens when gifts stack up near the end of the day.
